The Process

Virtual Tour

 

1. Wax is injected into a die to make a pattern.

2. Patterns are gated to a central spruce.

3. Pattern clusters are dipped in a ceramic slurry of powder and binder.

4. Wet cluster submerged in fluidized bed of dry grain to form stucco coats. Step 3 & 4 repeated several times.

5. Dewax the shell mold.

6. Hot molds are filled with metal by gravity, pressure, vacuum, or centrifugal force.

 

7. Mold material is broken away from casting.

8. Castings are removed from sprue gate stubs ground off.
